NZ Post Book Award Winners

A fabulously informative book aimed at educating all types of would-be hunters within a New Zealand setting.
From hunting deer, to pigs, ducks or possums, through to eeling and whitebaiting, this instructional manual provides a wealth of interesting and helpful facts.

DUNGER by JOY COWLEY takes home the Junior Fiction Prize

A holiday with your grandparents? How exciting could that be?! With no electricity, no cellphone reception and just each other for company, this holiday may well be called a dunger, like an old car...the car that William gets to drive at just 11 years old...maybe this holiday isn't so bad after all.

Minecraft Books

 Minecraft enthusiasts descended on the library today to view the newly purchased Minecraft books and talk all things Minecraft. The gathering was the brainchild of Sophie (Room 3) and Te Aroha (Room 1) - huge Minecraft followers, who are keen to host more such meets.

Awapuni Book Club consists of students in years 5 & 6 who are passionate about books and reading. These literature lovers come together to share the books they have read during the course of the week; read a page/blurb/passage from a book they are currently reading; and partake in a fun library activity.

Book Profile

Kurt Gets Truckloads    by  Erlend Loe

Introducing Kurt - the main character in one of our new Fiction books.

If you enjoy fast paced, laugh-out-loud books, then this is one well worth reading. It is a hilarious tale about Kurt, who one day saves a man from drowning and is subsequently rewarded with a gigantic diamond. He sells the diamond for 50 million dollars and then the drama ensues....
